Alberta’s government is partnering with Covenant to develop a new health centre, bringing more care and health services to Airdrie. The new Airdrie Covenant Health Centre will house a new Urgent Care and Birthing Centre and will share the health centre with a new Primary, Surgical and Ambulatory Care Centre.

A Covenant Wellness Community is coming to Airdrie
Every Covenant Wellness Community is built around a community health centre — a hospital without the beds, bringing health care services, wellness supports and community resources together under one roof.
It does not replace hospitals; it lets them focus on acute care, complex procedures and specialized services.
What is confirmed for Airdrie
This partnership between Covenant and the Government of Alberta will advance the first phase of the Airdrie Covenant Wellness Community.
A one-stop health centre for Airdrie. It brings health services that are usually spread across separate clinics together on one site, including:
urgent care
primary care (family doctors)
day surgeries
birthing centre
women’s and children’s health services
mental health services
chronic disease management
dialysis
diagnostics and lab services
This project will also leverage services provided by our medical retail partners such as a pharmacy, physiotherapy, dentistry, optometry and more.

More than a health centre
The long-term vision includes multi-family homes and long-term care, as well as shops and restaurants. This will create local jobs, expand housing and retail options and deliver health care that keeps people rooted in their community.
